About AASA
The University of Oklahoma's Asian-American Student Association provides a great opportunity to get involved with the campus community. Our purpose is to promote the cultural diversity of OU through activities that educate and celebrate the rich heritage and traditions of Asian-Americans.AASA is an organization for all cultural groups and interests. It serves the OU campus in Norman, as well as the surrounding community. Many community service projects are held through-out the school year to encourage students to get involved with the commnity in need. In addition to cultural events and community philanthropy, AASA hosts parties and sports tournaments to promote fellowship among all students. As an AASA member, your college life will be enriched with friendships and a sense of family on campus. It can truly become a "Home Away From Home."

How you can get involved
Well besides becoming an active AASA member, you can also apply for our Freshman Representative positions! Each year, 3 freshman applicants are chosen to become AASA officers. As a freshman representative, you and two others will work together to coordinate our annual Asian Food Fair, as well as take up the responsibilities and privileges of the other AASA officers. The Freshmen Representative position is a great opportunity for you to stand out among your peers as a LEADER...after all who wants to be a follower?
AASA also offers great leadership positions in our OPERATIONS TEAM. As a member of the "Ops Team," you will serve on various committees to plan and carryout AASA events throughout the school year. Towards the end of the year, you will receive an opportunity to coordinate your very own AASA event. many members of the "Ops Team" go on to be AASA officers. If you enjoy making a difference, then the "Ops Team" is for you!
